Greetings!
We are blessed to have friends and acquaintances like you and we hope to continue serving you and the ever-important principles at our parish. We have spoken about our parish efforts to advance on the true nature of stewardship. Stewardship is defined as, “a faithful, wise and responsible participation in the plan of God.” In the spirit of our faith, we as Catholics need to change the way we support our parish and community. During times of need you have been most generous, not only to our church but we are sure to other efforts and institutions that require your time, talents and treasures. Your approach to these matters has gratified us as members of your parish and brothers and sisters in faith.
Nevertheless, when there is no apparent “need” we often overlook our responsibility to give God what’s deserved. Often we give Him what remains – what remains of our time, what remains of our talents and what remains from the abundant treasures He provides us. Today, we are asking you to join us and many other Catholics in our town and around the country, and embrace an attitude of abundance. We invite you to consider changing your current habit of providing to our parish weekly and pledge a thoughtful and prayerful offertory gift using the automatic giving program we’ve recently begun offering. Our parish council and finance committee have agreed that introducing an automatic giving program will help our parish members commit a prayerful, budgeted amount each month to be deducted from a bank account or credit card. This reflects a new movement in giving – one that is available elsewhere in our diocese and is spreading nationally.
We humbly call for you to include the church in your monthly budget, provide for our parish even when you cannot make Mass at your parish, and allow the Lord to flourish his bountiful works.
Thank you for your consideration. May God bless you and your family.
